Inspiration From Art

I have decided to write a collection of short stories based on the paintings of Marc Chagall and Edvard Munch. I’ve started a story based on Chagall’s The Promenade. I’ve called it, He Flew Her Like a Kite. It’s about a dress that doesn’t fit and the strained relationship between a couple who are about to get married. There’s something of the surreal in there too.

I love the way Chagall paints. There is humour, emotion and an oddness that is so appealing. Oh, and the colours he uses!
